L'Alsace en liaison avec la Station Spatiale Internationale

Mercredi 21 Juillet 2010, les étudiants de l'International Space University et le Radio Club de Strasbourg F6KQV établiront, devant la presse, une liaison radio avec la Station Spatiale Internationale.

Depuis 2008, l'International Space University (ISU), basée à Illkirch Graffenstaden, possède une station terrestre d'observation de satellites entièrement automatisée, qui permet d'observer les satellites et notamment les satellites radioamateurs.

Les radioamateurs du monde entier se sont réunis au sein d'une structure internationale appelée ARISS «Amateur Radio on the International Space Station». Son objectif est de gérer le matériel radioamateur au sein de la Station Spatiale Internationale (ISS) et d'organiser des contacts radio entre les écoles et les occupants de la station. L'activité la plus visible d'ARISS est d'organiser des contacts radio entre des écoles et l'ISS, participant ainsi au programme éducatif spatial lancé par la NASA.

Devant la presse, un contact officiel entre l'ISU et l'ISS sera établi le mercredi 21 juillet à 17h36 heure locale et retransmis dans l'auditorium Boeing à l'ISU en langue anglaise.

La connexion avec l'ISS étant sous contrôle, une liste de questions a été établie :

• How does the day/night cycle affect you on the ISS?
• What experiments are you performing while on the ISS?
• What is the most significant change in your body that you have noticed in microgravity?
• How long did you train for your mission, and what type of training did you do?

• What is the policy regarding art-works on the ISS? Are there any posters on the walls?
• What is the best part of living on the ISS?
• What do you think about having space tourists on-board the station?
• Do you keep in touch with the world's news from outer space?
• Can you drink alcohol on-board the station?
• What is your opinion on transforming the ISS into a space tourism facility?
• How much free time do you have a day, and what do you like to do with it?
• Would you change something on the EVA suits? What?
• Did you always want to be an astronaut and is it like you imagined?
• Have you used both the Shuttle and the Soyuz? Which one do you like better?
• How much contact with mass media do you have while on orbit?
• Do you consider this to be a spiritual experience?
• What do you most look forward to when you return to the Earth?
• What is the one item you wish you could eat/ drink while on the ISS?
